The First Nations portfolio was introduced at the end of 2014 to increase the visibility of First Nations legal issues and to enhance both professional and personal support for First Nations students within the law school.
The portfolio aims to denaturalise the settler state by highlighting the ongoing occupation of Indigenous territories, and the ongoing impacts of colonialism. Central to this task is acknowledging the role the law continues to play in legitimating Indigenous dispossession.
All students are encouraged to get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Questions, comments, concerns, just a friendly hello are all more than welcome.
