SULS provides support for students to ensure they get the most out of their academic experience at university. We provide general and specific advocacy to the Faculty on education-related concerns, as well as being a first port of call for questions regarding your degree.

SULS members are also members of the Australian Law Students' Association (ALSA), which advocates the interests of Australian law students and provides information regarding legal education in Australia. For more information about ALSA go to www.alsa.net.au

Equity at Sydney University Law Society is about promoting an environment of equal opportunity, equal access and equal representation within Sydney Law School. Equity is responsible for providing students with relevant and up-to-date information about student services, welfare entitlements and special consideration policies available at Sydney University to support their academic and personal wellbeing.

Women

SULS Women's Mentoring Program

The SULS Women’s Mentoring Program endeavours to promote the career development of female law students. The program also aims to develop a co-operative network to support and encourage women who aspire to enter and succeed in the profession. The program involves pairing each female law student applicant with a mentor whose area of expertise is of particular interest to the student.  2011 is the eighth consecutive year of the Program and it continues to receive positive feedback from students and mentors.

International

In line with the Sydney University Law Society Constitution, the International Students’ Officer and the International Student Sub-Committee are responsible for creating awareness of international students’ needs within the law faculty, facilitating interactions between international students and domestic students through SULS programs and events, as well as improving and supporting the general welfare of international students.

Queer

The Queer Portfolio was established in 2009, to ensure that queer-identifying students are properly represented and supported within the Law School. Each year a Queer Officer is appointed by the existing members of the SULS Executive to manage the portfolio.
