In 2010, all New South Wales based Law Students’ Societies banded together to form the NSW Young Lawyers Special Committee of the Law Students’ Societies (SCLSS). Earlier in the year we brought to you the SCLSS Intervarsity Equity Breakfast.
We now bring to you the Inaugural SCLSS Intervarsity Cocktail Evening! The evening promises four hours of unlimited drinks and food. It also promises great music and a burning dance floor all night long. Get your friends together because tickets are bound to sell out fast – think Law Ball, but all NSW law students competing for the same tickets!
On Tuesday July 19, a group of fourteen volunteers from the SULS community travelled to Fairfield High School as part of the Greater Sydney Schools Trip, organised by the SULS Social Inclusion Committee.
This initiative operated in cooperation with the Compass program, a partnership between the University, the NSW Department of Education and Training, and selected schools in Sydney. Those organisations are working together to encourage students from diverse backgrounds to think about tertiary education as a viable post-school option.
Yemaya is an annual SULS journal featuring a variety of text types, covering topics all around the world and written by law students and otherwise, with one common concern: women. Contemporary dialogue is filled with catch phrases of gender equality, empowerment of women and equal opportunity, but how well do women fare in the legal profession, before the legal system and in other areas of the world today?

The Sydney University Law Society, in conjunction with UTS, Macquarie University and the New South Wales Young Lawyers Special Committee of Law Students’ Societies, has initiated a new intervarsity mooting tournament aimed at addressing the equity issues facing women at the bar.
Please note that the correct time for the Peer Assisted Study Sessions: Information Session is Wednesday, 18th May at 1pm. Apologies for any inconvenience caused; this mistake has now been corrected.
"How can I be my best advocate? How do I make myself heard? What is the right path for me?" The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is delighted to host the second of our Quarterly Roundtable Discussions where we facilitate an informal discussion on topics like these, of interest to women looking to build a career in business. The topics change each quarter and provide a wonderful opportunity to learn from each other and develop your networks.
Our next Roundtable Discussion is taking place on:
Date: Thursday 26 May 2011
Time: 5.30 pm - 7.00 pm (refreshments included)

By liking the Mallesons 'Real Deal' page, you can find out about the opportunities for clerks and grads and get an inside view into what life is like at the firm, including our people, offices, structure and what makes Mallesons different.
Fans of the page can also find details on all our programs and participate in live discussions and competitions.
