Welcome to the Sydney University Law Society (SULS)!

I am honoured to be welcoming you to SULS for 2024! As the primary association for law students at the University of Sydney, SULS aims to enrich the law school experience in every way that it can. Our Executive team encompasses 22 individuals who, through their various portfolios, provide a plethora of opportunities for you to get involved in, and a place to turn to for support during your studies.

SULS provides a range of mentoring programs, networking events, seminars and panels, to to assist with career development and provide academic support. Our extensive Competitions Portfolio, policy pitch competition, and publications all provide ways for you to expand your legal knowledge and skill set outside of work and classes. SULS also recognises that law school is not just about professional development, but is a place for you to make memories and develop friendships that can last a lifetime. From our flagship social events such as Law Ball and Law Cruise, to our on campus socials, picnics and BBQs, SULS provides a range of opportunities to meet other students and become part of a welcoming and diverse community that not only makes you feel supported, but makes university fun.

We know that every student experiences law school differently, and are committed to making sure that SULS has something for everyone. Diversity and inclusion is at the forefront of our event planning, and our autonomous portfolios provide a range of events throughout the year dedicated to advocacy and creating an inclusive place on campus. Our flagship social events will be accompanied by event packets which provide information on a range of support and accessibility measures, including who the wellbeing officers are, where the quiet room is located, and where you can access earplugs. If you are in need of financial assistance throughout the year, we have a range of equity schemes available to assist eligible students. Check out our Support Services Handbook for a comprehensive guide of services and programs that maybe be able to provide additional support.

To ensure that you are up to date with all that SULS offers and any important information, sign up to our SULS weekly newsletter, like our Facebook page, follow us on Instagram (@suls_sydney) and join your cohortโ€™s Facebook Group (available on the SULS Facebook page). You can also reach out to us via email, send us a message through Facebook or Instagram if you have any questions. If you are joining us as a new student, or have not yet registered, you will need to register to become a SULS member.
