NOTICE OF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING AND OF PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION
Special General Meeting, Thursday 8 October 2026

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to clauses 50A(b), 51, 70 and 71 of the Constitution of the Sydney University Law Society Incorporated, that a Special General Meeting of the Society has been convened by the President and will be held:
Date: Thursday, 8 October 2026
Time: 6:00pm
Venue: TBC, Camperdown/ Darlington Campus, The University of Sydney
Online: Members may attend by audio-visual link which will be circulated seven (7) days prior to the Special General Meeting
Purpose of the meeting: to consider, and if thought fit pass, the proposed amendments to the Constitution set out in the Schedule below, together with the other business set out in this notice. In accordance with clause 50A, business at the meeting is confined to the purposes stated in this notice.
The full text of each proposed amendment is set out here. This notice is given not less than twenty-one (21) days before the meeting as required by clause 70(b).
What should you know as a member?
Each proposed amendment requires a three-quarters majority of those members present and voting to pass (cl 70). Quorum is the lesser of one-third of members or fifteen (15) members (cl 54).
The Constitution makes no provision for proxy voting. To vote, you must attend the meeting in person or by the audio-visual link above.
All members of the Society are entitled to attend and vote. Questions about this notice, the proposed amendments, or attendance may be directed to the Secretary at secretary@suls.org.au.
